Preview – Always the Sun Festival

Taking place on the 10th and 11th September Always the Sun festival will celebrate the 10th birthday of Guildford gig venue The Boileroom. The event, being held in Stoke Park will see a mixture of music and arts & crafts over the weekend. At £20 for a day ticket and £40 for both days it’s an affordable festival (kids tickets are half the price too). And with plenty of trains running from London it’s not too far for a daytrip!

Mystery Jets (Saturday) are Turin Brakes (Sunday) are headlining, and other acts on the bill include Spring King, The Big Moon, Get Inuit, Kagoule and The Amazons, to name just a few!

The second stage or will play host to local talent from the Guildford area hand-picked by local promoters. While the ‘Buskers Stage’ will be run by Lark Recordings.

As well the music they’ll be a plenty of foodie things happening at the Outdoor Kitchen  with a bake-off style competition happening on Sunday. Or you can head to the Crafty Peacock  area and try out one of the arts & craft activities on offer! If theatre is your thing they’ll be plenty of that happening on the ‘All the Worlds Stage’ with acting workshops, live performances, poetry and spoken word.
