Latitude Festival takes place from the 14th – 17th July in Henham Park, Suffolk. It celebrated its 10th birthday last year and this year it’s back again with another impressive line-up including main arena headliners The Maccabees, The National and New Order, as well as loads of other great bands across numerous stages. Chvurches, Of Monsters and Men, Ratboy, Magic Gang, Bill Ryder Jones and Barns Courtney are just a few on my list to see over the weekend! I first went to Latitude three years ago and loved it so much I make sure it’s on my festival list every summer now, and the fact it takes place in my home county makes it even better of course! (well for me anyway)
The site itself is idyllic and picturesque, situated by a lake – and one you can actually take a dip in if you fancy, OH and watch out for some late night light and performance art shows on the lake too. The great thing about this festival is that along with a super ace music line-up there’s so many more things going on, the comedy tent welcomes Russell Howard and Bill Bailey this year alongside plenty more big names. There’s also theatre, poetry, film and cabaret and so many more things happening around the site too – have a wander into the forest areas and see what you can find! It’s worth noting that Latitude is a really family friendly festival too, it really is one for all ages and along with the kids field there are loads of fun activities to keep them entertained.
And if food is your thing then there’s much more at Latitude for you to discover than just your standard festival grub with stalls to cater for everyone with lots of yummy things to be found! There’s even a proper sit down restaurant hosted by Blixen lake-side where you can dine on steak and sip a cocktail…I went last year and it was definitely a good decision made!
And don’t forget to check out what colour coat the sheep are sporting this year!
