Hackney is always surprising me, just when I thought I knew where all the best bars were, up pops another one to discover. So on Tuesday night I headed to Number 90 Bar & Resturant, an amazing Warehouse conversion right on the canal, conveniently just round the corner from Hackney Wick Overground (you can always rely on the overground during a tube strike!).
The event taking place was the Future Shorts Spring Season screening, Future Shorts is the sister project of Secret Cinema and the films selected for Future Shorts spring season programme have been acknowledged by Sundance Film Festival, British Independent Film Award, LA Film Festival, LA Shorts Festival, San Francisco Film Festival, Seattle and Dubai Film Festivals and other international film organisations.
Event host Silvija introducing the films!
The evening also saw performances from Jonny P Taylor whose recently supported London band Flyte, and an acoustic set from Gareth Esson, you can check them out here…. https://www.facebook.com/GarethEssonMusic, https://www.facebook.com/jonnyptaylor
There were also some yummy burgers available from the kitchen at Number 90 too….the sweet potato fries were AWESOME, oh and its also worth mentioning the bar staff were lovely!

My personal favourite was Fear of Flying, although The Big House and Jonah also deserve honorable mentions! Keep an eye on the Future Shorts website for more events!
